Abstract: Medical students are responsible for the future of the national medical and health undertakings and are the mainstay of the successful implementation of the Healthy China strategy. Clinical internship is an important stage in the transformation of medical students into the role of clinicians. Strengthening ideological and political education in clinical internship courses is the fundamental guarantee for cultivating medical students' professional qualities such as saving lives and helping the wounded, dedicating themselves to their work, and being brave to take responsibility. Measures such as improving the exploration and practical abilities of clinical teachers' ideological and political education, integrating curriculum ideological and political teaching in clinical teaching through precepts and deeds, flexibly using a variety of teaching methods, and cultivating students' ability to actively practice and reflect on themselves are effective ways to improve ideological and political education in clinical internship courses for medical students.
