Abstract:  Online teaching has changed the mode of teaching and learning. Due to the confusion and estrangement of space, the interaction between teachers and students is blind, and the resulting phenomenon of silence in online classes has attracted the attention of teachers in medical universities. After three years of application of the online improved BOPPPS education and teaching model in our institution, we analyzed students' engagement level from three dimensions of classroom cognition, classroom emotion and classroom behavior, and concluded that the improved BOPPPS teaching model can improve classroom participation. Then we analyzed the impact of the improved BOPPPS teaching model on the type of classroom silence so as to provide a basis for the application of improved BOPPPS teaching model.
