Course assessment of online learning in medical universities

Abstract:

Owing to the outbreak of COVID-19, the spring term  of 2020 in Chinese universities witnessed the online teaching mode in full swing. Among other things, assessments mark a vital link, which not just measure the learning effect, evaluate the teaching quality and test the implementation of teaching objectives, but serve to guide and stimulate the teaching designs on teachers part as well as the learning actions on students, part. Where online teaching is concerned, due to the constraints of time and space, routine closed-book examinations turn out difficult to carry out. It poses a big challenge to the current higher education of medical science to adapt examining plans, modes as well as contents to online teaching modes.  This paper explores how to assess online learning objectively and effectively in light of assessment objectives, assessment methods, score settings, test paper design and assessment implementation and other aspects.
