Ideological and political education in teaching molecular biology to Traditional Chinese Medicine majors

Abstract: Ideological and political education is a new requirement for molecular biology teaching in medical universities in the new era. In teaching Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) majors,  based on the concept of inheritance and innovation,  we explored the traditional culture of TCM,  fully integrated ideological and political elements into the curriculum system construction. The depth and breadth of ideological and political education was expanded in the process of teaching objectives,  content,  methods and evaluation,  and we set up a comprehensive curriculum ideological and political system of molecular biology. Ideological and political education runs through the whole process of molecular biology teaching,  enhances the mission sense of inheriting the essence among TCM majors,  keeping their integrity and innovation,  and fulfilling the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating  people. It provides useful experience for the ideological and political teaching reform of molecular biology courses in TCM specialty.
