Application of virtual reality technology in clinical medical education

Abstract: Virtual reality (VR) is an immersive simulation which creates the perception of being present within a non-physical virtual world. VR technology can help educate medical undergraduates, resident doctors and other specialist doctors for degree education, post-graduate education , or continuing education. This article introduces the basic concepts of virtual reality technology and discusses the development prospects of the VR technology in medical education.
