Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of reforming the teaching content of evidence-based medical thinking in clinical epidemiology for international students. Methods This study selected six-year clinical international students of Capital Medical University and teachers guided them to construct clinical problems based on the PICOS model of evidence-based medicine and clinical practice, and used various methods such as CBL and PBL in teaching clinical epidemiology. The basic information and learning situation of international students were collected by questionnaires. Chi-square test was used to illustrate the students' feedback on the teaching methods. Wilcoxon test and Chi-square test were used to compare the teaching results of two academic years and to evaluate the teaching effects before and after teaching reform. Results It showed that case study and discussion with teachers and classmates were the most popular teaching methods among international students in the clinical epidemiology course; there was a statistical difference among the three teaching methods of watching TV or video, studying on the computer, and discussing with teachers and classmates. International students' final term results in 2021-2022 after the reform were higher than their results in 2020-2021 before the reform, and the number of students in the 90~100 score range after the reform was significantly higher. Conclusion This study investigated the reform measures and practical methods of international students in the process of teaching reform of clinical epidemiology in order to improve the teaching quality and effectiveness of the course in the future.
