Feasibility analysis on offering dance therapy course in medical universities

Abstract: Art therapy is a new subject in artistic and medical circles, and dance therapy as the major component in art therapy, is attracting more and more attention. This paper analyzes the evolution of dance therapy in China, and indicates that medical universities play an irreplaceable role in researching and developing dance therapy course. Medical universities provide both theoretical support and a practice platform for students. Intensive study on modern dance, movement analysis and psychoanalysis will help dance therapy become a specialized and standardized professional medical field.
