Abstract: Adult higher education is an effective way to promote the construction of learning society. In order to understand the learning needs of adult medical education students as well as to effectively improve the quality of students’ learning, a study was conducted in 450 undergraduates of Class 2017 of School of General Practice and Continuing Education in Capital Medical University. We have investigated students’ status quo, learning difficulties, learning motivation, etc through questionnaires and put forward the following improvements and suggestions: offering more internet-based courses as a supplement to traditional face-to-face lecture teaching; compiling proper textbooks corresponding to learners’ knowledge level; improving the quality of teaching; providing more practice opportunities, motivating students’ by scholarship, transforming external motivation to internal motivation; organizing more class activities and experience-sharing meetings to enhance class cohesion and dynamics.
