Abstract: Objective To solve existing problems of outdated contents, limited cases, insufficient subjects amalgamation, old-fashioned teaching methods and poor learning outcomes by innovative methods in teaching of infectious diseases. Methods In the clinical teaching of infectious diseases, relying on typical cases, we carried out a teaching method of multidisciplinary team and case-based learning, collected feedback, and explored and optimized the teaching process. Results Participants' feedback considered the new method helpful in improving teamwork ability (71.4%), mastering relevant subject knowledge (71.4%), deepening understanding and memory (67.9%) and improving overall competence (64.2%). Teachers believed that learners should be more prepared and more involved in discussions prior to class. Conclusion The multidisciplinary team and case-based learning method can stimulate students' learning interest, deepen knowledge understanding and improve comprehensive ability, but the preparation process requires a lot of time and energy, the application conditions are limited, and the general promotion needs continuous improvement.
