Exploration and practice of early clinical education for medical undergraduates

Abstract: Early clinical education plays an important role in improving the quality of medical personnel training. This paper reviewed that over 30 years our university has advocated early clinical education for medical undergraduates, with the penetration of “early clinical correlation”. Furthermore, the education model of early clinical education guaranteed by the first class, enriched by the second class and expanded by the third class has formed in our university, which has cultivated the clinical thinking of medical undergraduates. Facing the new ideas and challenges of modern medical education, combined with the recent advances in our university, the current article puts forward new measures to strengthen the early clinical education for medical undergraduates, which may provide some referential experiences or beneficial suggestions for the medical education in local colleges and universities.
