Cultivating high quality interdisciplinary preventive medicine talents—taking Nanjing Medical University as an example

Abstract: Promoting the construction of a healthy China and improving the health level of the people are sacred missions and arduous tasks entrusted to the public health practitioners by the Party and the State. As the cradle of public health and preventive healthcare talents, colleges and universities need to strengthen the connotation construction of new medicine, reform medical education methods, improve the quality of talent training, and strive to cultivate high quality interdisciplinary preventive health talents who can guarantee people's health in an all-round and full cycle way and serve the construction of a healthy China. Taking the cultivation of preventive medicine undergraduates in Nanjing Medical University as an example, we expound the practice and exploration of preventive medicine talent cultivation from several aspects, including talent cultivation goals, curriculum system construction, clinical practice teaching, integration of industry and teaching and cooperation between medicine and education, and teaching methods.
