Exploration and application of  teaching model in regional anatomy experimental course

Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the effect of teaching mode of combining clinical cases with basic knowledge based on WeChat platform.  MethodsBoth 121 and 122 undergraduate students of 2018 clinical medicine were assigned to the experimental group and control group, repectively. The experimental group adopted the teaching model of combining clinical cases with basic knowledge based on WeChat platform. The control group adopted the traditional teaching model. The results of teaching models were evaluated by means of questionnaire survey and examination scores. ResultsMore than 84% of the students thought that this model has favorable effects on the enhancement of autonomous learning ability, learning interest and enthusiasm. More than 87% of students thought that this teaching model can strengthen the consolidation of theoretical knowledge and promote the understanding and application of theoretical knowledge, which is beneficial to the combination of basic and clinical knowledge. More than 77% of the students thought that this teaching model is helpful to improve the comprehensive application ability of knowledge. More than 79% of the students thought that this teaching model is helpful to cultivate the ability of teamwork. The students in experimental group had a high degree of satisfaction with the teaching model. Comparing the final theoretical examination scores, the scores were significantly higher in the experimental group than those in the control group. ConclusionThe teaching model of combining clinical cases with basic knowledge based on WeChat in the experimental teaching of regional anatomy stimulates enthusiasm for independent learning and interest of students. It improves students ability of understanding and applying theoretical knowledge and cultivates students ability of teamwork, improves students satisfaction with teaching.
