Path of ideological and political education in curriculum for rural oriented medical students in the new era

Abstract: Ideological and political education in curriculum is a comprehensive educational concept that organically integrates the elements of ideological and political education into the whole process of specialty teaching,  as well as an important way to implement moral education. Our survey found weak awareness of rural oriented medical students to voluntarily serve grass-roots medical institutions,  and low renewal rate in grass-roots institutions after the expiration of service. This study discusses the path of ideological and political education in curriculum for rural oriented medical students in the new era from the aspects of teachers' ideological and political literacy,  the exemplary role of teachers' role models,  the establishment of curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses,  the construction of curriculum ideological and political evaluation system and support from school. Rural oriented medical students should set up correct outlook on life and values,  we should improve their awareness to serve the grassroots,  and train grassroots health talents who are “ready to go,  happy to stay and good to help”,  so as to help the construction of “Healthy China”.
