Ideological and political education in the community health nursing course—based on students, experience perspective

Abstract: Objective  To explore the learning experience of nursing undergraduates on ideological and political content after completing the study of community health nursing. Methods  The phenomenological research method of qualitative research was used. Semi-structured interviews were conducted on 20 nursing students, and the interview contents were managed, encoded and analyzed using MAXQDA software. Results   Fifty concepts and nine categories were formed and summarized into five themes: the teaching purpose, the teaching method, the interest, the assessment of ideological and political content in community health nursing, and the cultivation of communication ability in community health nursing. Conclusion  The course of community health nursing should attach importance to students, learning experience, adopt flexible and diverse teaching methods, arouse  students, interest in learning, set reasonable assessment, carry out ideological and political practice activities, and continue to reform according to students, feedback.
