Abstract: ObjectiveTo understand the current situation and problems of medical service volunteers in Beijing universities, to put forward corresponding measures and to provide a basis for the development of medical volunteer service. MethodsThe stratified sampling method was used to investigate medical service volunteers in 22 universities in Beijing. The effective recovery rate was 99.08%. ResultsAmong the surveyed subjects, only 42.25% received training in doctor-patient communication skills; 25.46% were generally or not satisfied with the guarantee; 62.73% thought they could make the medical process orderly and efficient and popularize health knowledge; 81.71% thought their relevant medical knowledge was insufficient. ConclusionCollege student volunteers lack of professionalism and pertinence and the voluntary management system was not perfect. We should give full play to the professional and human resources advantages of college volunteers and manage medical service volunteers through the integrated linkage mode of “school-medical institutions-government”, thus promoting the development of the medical volunteer service and improving the health literacy for all.
