    Clinical practice teaching plays an indispensable role in training medical talents.     The “5+3” integrated talent training model for clinical medicine underwent reform and practice for five years and achieved remarkable results. It has gradually become the leading force of higher medical education in China. The essential connotation is to establish a standardized medical talent training system through the effective integration of college education, postgraduation education, and continuing education. Taking Zhengzhou University as an example, this article analyzes the current weaknesses in this training mode, and focuses on how to design and revise better talent training plans, carry out curriculum reforms, and strengthen grassroots teaching organizations and faculty under the background of building a first-class university. Some reforms and practices have been carried out on the connotation construction of integrated talent training in terms of construction, medical education collaborative education, etc, aiming to provide reference for other universities.

    nder the background of “New Medicine”, clinical medicine is an important part of medical education, especially the medical education reform and innovation of “5+3” integrated clinical medicine, which is crucial for cultivating future-oriented new medical talents. The construction of the curriculum system is the foundation of talent training model. Its core is the cross-integration and innovation of various disciplines. In the integration and innovation of basic courses, this paper argues we should adhere to ideological and political education and medical ethics education, form a new basic curriculum system with “medicine + X”, establish new integrated medical courses, and explore the role of the talent training curriculum system for new science and engineering courses in the context of “new medical science”. The teaching schedules of the integrated medical courses majoring in the medical talent training model under the background of “new medicine” and the minor courses of “science, engineering, humanities and business” should complement each other. Meanwhile, complete the multi-party collaboration of teachers and administrative teams within the medical school and between different departments within the university. Finally, complete the training of innovative and compound medical talents for the “5+3” integrated clinical medicine specialty.

    As a practical subject, the cultivation of practical ability is an important way to improve the post competency of “5 + 3” integrated clinical medical students, and it is also the starting point and objective of innovative quality education. Medical College of Zhengzhou University has been deploying the characteristics and discipline advantages of comprehensive university for many years. Through the reform of experimental teaching curriculum, opening experimental teaching and scientific research platform, the role of education and teaching units at all levels in the process of cultivating medical students innovation ability has been fully played. In the process of cultivating broad foundation and strong ability, it is advisable quickly to adapt to the rapid development of modern basic medical education, improve the training ability of high-level talents, and help the construction of double first-class universities.

    Under the background of the implementation of “22 items of higher education reform” in the new era, increasing demands emerged during the undergraduate education, such as strict management of education and teaching, reforms of education and teaching system, and guidance of teachers to devote themselves to educating people. However, the relative shortage of teaching resources, imperfect evaluation mechanism and insufficient interaction between teaching and scientific research will affect the quality of personnel training in local medical colleges and universities. In order to deepen the reform of medical education and teaching, this paper constructs a diversified formative evaluation system based on classroom teaching, network teaching and offline examination during the process of exploring the innovative and outstanding local medical talents training mode, in which the education and teaching reforms of medical talents training based on the interaction between teaching and scientific research are carried out from the perspectives of theoretical course, experimental course and innovative training. The corresponding studies have also achieved some successful experience which will explore a new way to train excellent medical talents for local medical colleges and universities.

    Due to the objective conditions, the medical level of Tibet Autonomous Region is relatively backward and the medical talents are relatively scarce. The “team based” aid for Tibet medical project has laid favorable foundation for the development of medical level and the training of medical talents in Tibet. The training mode of “teaching leading apprentice” includes establishing the responsibility system of “teaching with apprentice”, focusing on clinical practicability, strengthening the training of practical ability, paying attention to medical humanities education and clinical scientific research ability. The previous practice has achieved desired results, and the level of local medical talents has reached the expected goals. This mode is worth implementing and promoting in the future work.

    Objective   To construct the teaching system for “Introduction to Anesthesiology” and evaluate its teaching effects. Methods   Based on the basic teaching system of “Introduction to Anesthesiology”, we introduced experimental teaching and the corresponding theory courses to construct an updated system with the combination of the theory and practice. Through questionnaire survey, we compared the teaching effect differences between the basic teaching system and the updated teaching system. The questionnaire content included cognitive ability to anesthesiology, motivation to study follow-up courses and career planning. Results  The undergraduates who received the updated teaching system have better understanding of the importance, the feature and the career choice of anesthesiology. Meanwhile, the updated teaching system provided the guidance for studying basic and clinical medicine courses and participating internship programs. Furthermore, the updated teaching system could provide advice for career planning and preparing medical license examination and post-graduate entrance examination. Conclusion   The updated teaching system with the combination of theory and practice could enhance the cognitive ability of anesthesiology, motivate the interest of follow-up courses and guide the career planning. Thus, this system provided a new way for the undergraduates to learn, to love and to understand anesthesiology and to be qualified in anesthesiology major.

    Medical English terminology is an important part of medical English. The bilingual teaching in medical humanities is the goal of cultivating medical students to abide by medical ethics and serving patients and is also the primary task of establishing moral virtues in medical universities in the new era. In the translation courses of medical English and Chinese, the English teachers in the SUMHS actively seek to explore the teaching practices of cultivating medical students value orientation with humanistic care as the goal, coupled with the humanistic thinking as the key, to guide students for the doctor-patient communication with medical terminology variants based on Chestermans translation ethics model (reproduction ethics, service ethics, communication ethics, normative ethics and commitment ethics), which is helpful for students to develop effective paths and methods of the communication mode between patients and doctors by the social and humanistic functions of medical terminology variants in the future.

    During COVID-19 epidemic we combined the professional characteristics of students majoring in prosthetics and orthotics and conducted online teaching of human body and motor system pathology. We have carefully prepared teaching resources, courseware and teaching paths in the early stage, and adopted appropriate teaching methods, so as to obtain better teaching feedback from students. During the special period, we insisted on the orderly development of our teaching work, and ensured maximum teaching effects. The students autonomous learning ability was significantly enhanced, and the teaching mode switched smoothly from “teacher-centered” to “student-independent learning centered”. In addition, we accumulated some teaching experience in the online teaching process.

    Integrating socialist core values into professional courses teaching is the requirement of ideological and political reform of professional courses.     Objective  To explore the influence of personality traits on empathy among medical students. Methods  Medical students of three medical colleges in Shanghai participated in this study, and questionnaire survey was conducted by cluster sampling of class. The empathy and personality traits of medical students were assessed by the Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy-Student Version (JSPE-S) and the Neuroticism Extraversion Openness Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI). Results   2020 questionnaires were handed out and 1958 valid samples were collected. The effective rate was 96.93%. The mean score of JSPE-Swas103.24±14.35. The correlation analysis showed that the empathy was correlated positively with “extraversion”, “openness”, “agreeableness”, and “conscientiousness” (r=0.154~0.406, P<0.01), while negatively with “neuroticism” (r=-0.175, P<0.01). The hierarchical regression analysis revealed that “importance of empathy” and five dimensions of “NEO-FFI” were significant for predicting the scores of empathy. Personality traits explained 16.2% of the variation. Conclusion  Chinese medical students’ empathy level is lower than that of foreign medical students. Strengthening the education of personality traits may help to improve medical students’ empathy.

    Xuanwu Hospital  of Capital Medical University targeted at senior high school graduates in Beijing and enrolled directional classes of nursing specialty from 2012 to 2016. 235 students are enrolled and 189 students work in our hospital after graduation. Their training mode, training program and syllabus are consistent with peer students. There are more failures in freshmen, due to their poor self-management ability. The failures in sophomores in 2015 and 2016 is dramatically reduced, owing to stringent employment criteria. Suggestions The most desirable target group of enrollment is Class Ⅱ undergraduate students. The cooperation pattern of colleges and universities can be more flexible, the training agreement should meet the higher requirements of students and set a number of incentive clauses, Pre-admissions interview can help to understand why students are enrolled, and the hospital should intervene in student management In the freshman year.

    Objective  To explore the application and effects of experiential teaching method combined with case-based learning (CBL) in the training of scientific research ability of nursing interns in otorhinolaryngology department. Methods  A total of 94 nursing undergraduates  were divided into experimental group and control group according to their practice order in otorhinolaryngology. The experimental group adopted the experiential teaching method combined with CBL; and the control group adopted the traditional teaching method. The differences were analyzed between both groups in the aspects of arousing learning interest, training nursing scientific research thinking, improving nursing clinical thinking and nursing scientific research ability, enriching practice information, enhancing nursing work self-confidence and satisfaction with teaching methods. Results  There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The questionnaire survey shows that the satisfaction rate of the experimental group students to the teaching method is 93.33%. In the aspects of arousing learning interest, training nursing scientific research thinking, improving nursing clinical thinking and nursing scientific research ability, enriching practice information, enhancing self-confidence in nursing work and satisfaction with teaching methods, the evaluation satisfaction rate in the experimental group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The questionnaire survey shows that experiential combined with CBL teaching method is helpful to improve teachers own research quality and teaching ability. Conclusion   Experiential teaching method combined with CBL can stimulate students interest in learning and improve their clinical thinking and research ability of nursing.

    Objective  To explore the effect of flipped classroom in laboratory of abnormal human morphology course. Methods   The undergraduates of two grades were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group adopted the flipped classroom teaching method, while the control group adopted the traditional teaching mode. Results  Compared with the control group,the scores and study satisfaction of the experimental group in the final exam were significantly higher (P<0.01) and students’ satisfactions in the sample observation and in case discussion were higher. There was no significant difference in the usual performance between two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion  The flipped classroom improved the teaching quality in abnormal human morphology course, and boosted the initiative and the comprehensive ability of students, which is worth popularizing in the future.

    With the deepening of teaching research, the ways and contents of teaching reflection are becoming more diversified. Open observation course as an important way of teaching reflection, how to give full play to its role in promoting teaching reflection needs to be further explored. Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) College of Capital Medical University  has created a good teaching reflection environment through the implementation of the open observation course system, carried out beneficial teaching thinking activities, supplemented appropriate forms of teaching reflection, and advanced interdisciplinary integration. Thus open observation course improves the teaching quality and ability, and achieves good teaching effects.     Objective  To evaluate the role and teaching effects of problem-based learning combined with multi-modality image fusion teaching mode in residents training of neurosurgery. Methods  Proper cases were selected according to normalized training teaching program. Guidance problems and multi-modality image infusion were utilized to help residents preview relevant knowledge before clinical teaching rounds. And effectiveness of this teaching method was compared with traditional teaching method. Results  Compared with traditional teaching method, problem-based learning combined with multi-modality image fusion teaching method not only improved the scores of residents in knowledge and practice (P﹤0.001), but also increased positive evaluation in interesting (P﹤0.05). Conclusion   Problem-based learning combined with multi-modality image fusion teaching mode could effectively improve teaching results, accelerate the learning progress of clinical skills, and promote technical skills of training residents.

    Objective  To follow the guidelines of medical talent training, to standardize the medical talent training system, we need to improve the quality of medical personnel training, and explore the medical talent training model which meets the actual needs of our country. Methods  140 medical colleges and universities in China were investigated by questionnaire, and the results were analyzed. Results  ①86.96% of colleges and universities agree that the unified “5+3” program integrated training system should be taken as the main body, as well as the standardized resident training, which could be awarded degree of doctor of medicine (MD) to those who are qualified. ②76.80% of colleges and universities approve of the medical doctor training system, which takes “5+3” integration as the main channel to train general practitioners. ③90.40% of colleges and universities agree to grant MD+PhD program through the “5+3+X” consistent training system to cultivate compound high-level clinical medical talents.④84.80% of colleges and universities agree that medical degree conferring should be separated from standardized training of specialized physicians, and the latter should be included in vocational training. Conclusion  To comprehensively promote the implementation of the “5+3” as the main body of high-quality clinical medical-related personnel training mode, the training target is to meet the needs of the social needs of high-level general practitioners as the main body, speed up the construction of high-level compound medical personnel training system.

    Objective   To understand the willingness and influencing factors of medical staff in Beijing community health service centers to engage in hospice care. Methods   Using a sampling method combining stratified multi-stage and cluster sampling, a self-compiled questionnaire survey was conducted among 468 medical staff in 10 community health service centers in Beijing. Results   43.2% of community medical staff in Beijing were willing to engage in hospice care; 4 aspects including age, professional title had statistically significant differences in the willingness of medical staff to engage in hospice care (P<0.05); Logistic Regression analysis shows that the age, professional title, highest degree of education of medical staff, and the degree of awareness of hospice care are the main factors that affect the willingness to engage in hospice care. Conclusion   Community medical staff aged 50 and above or with intermediate professional titles are more willing to engage in hospice care; the willingness of professional medical staff in clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine to work in hospice care needs to be improved; the cognition level of community medical staff in hospice care is an important factor affecting their willingness to engage in hospice care work.

    Objective  The hospitals consumables management is increasingly informatized, and a set of high-value medical consumables tracking management system is established to connect the consumables management system with the hospital information system (HIS) to improve efficiency and accuracy. Methods  To introduce and compare traditional manual management methods and modern information management methods of high-value consumables in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University. Results  Modern information management methods for high-value consumables include the establishment of primary and secondary storerooms, the use of consumable smart cabinets, multi-department supervision and responsible management mechanisms, and comprehensive tracking from storage-application-receipt-use statistics-settlement. Compared with the traditional manual management, modern information-based management of high-value consumables can reduce billing omissions, improve the management of high-value consumables, improve information traceability, and improve inventory management. Conclusion  The information management of high-value medical consumables ensures the safe management and quality control of consumables, and improves the management quality of consumables.

    In medical universities, the chemical experiments are interdisciplinary, and the experimental contents are comprehensive. Different chemicals bring potential hazards. It is important to manage well the chemicals in chemical laboratories. This paper analyzed the current situation of management of chemicals in chemical laboratory. The awareness of safety management is weak. There are a variety of chemicals. The management of chemicals is insufficient. To solve these problems, we provided safety management of chemicals in chemical laboratory, including personnel education of safety awareness, safety management rules of chemicals, and supporting measures of hardware and software. The standardized storage management methods of chemicals are discussed. Common chemicals are classified and stored. Other dangerous chemicals should be kept in special ways, such as strong oxidizing chemicals, strong corrosive chemicals, strong toxic chemicals, inflammable and explosive chemicals, etc. The using management methods of chemicals are also discussed, including registration of chemicals, using methods of chemicals, and management of wastes. The standardized management of chemicals in chemical laboratory was helpful to maintain a safe and stable environment for teaching and research. So, the benefits of chemical laboratory could be fully realized.
