Abstract: Biochemistry is a bridge course combining traditional Chinese medicine with modern medicine, and plays a key role in the cultivation of applied traditional Chinese medicine talents. However, under the traditional teaching mode, it is difficult for students to realize the value of the course and often do not pay due attention to this course. This paper proposes reasonably arranging the teaching content, fully introducing medical cases, highlighting the characteristics of medical specialty, exploring the application cases of biochemical knowledge in the field of traditional Chinese medicine research, fully highlighting the principle of “learning for application”, effectively stimulating students’ learning interest, improving discipline value and achieving better teaching effect. It provides a useful reference for the cultivation of applied medical talents in pursuit of excellence.
