Abstract: ObjectiveTo understand the current situation of college students' cognition and attitudes towards hematopoietic stem cell donation in the new era, to explore the factors affecting hematopoietic stem cell donation, and to provide scientific basis for improving the science of hematopoietic stem cell.  MethodsA stratified sampling survey method was adopted. A total of 851 college students from 36 universities in Beijing were surveyed. Results57.10% of college students did not know about hematopoietic stem cell donation, 60.29% of college students rarely heard or never heard of relevant information, and nearly half of college students said they did not intend to donate. When asked why, 54.19% of college students chose not to understand enough; Logistic regression results show that cognition is the primary factor that affects the attitudes and willingness of college students to donate themselves and their family members. ConclusionThe status quo of Beijing university students' awareness of hematopoietic stem cell donation is poor, and their willingness to donate is low. Scientific and effective popular science activities should be strengthened to improve the cognition of hematopoietic stem cells and promote the development of hematopoietic stem cell donation.
