Abstract: ObjectiveUsing the binary logistic regression model, this study analyzed graduation deferral of medicine doctoral students and its influencing factors based on the survey data in the “Double first-class” construction university affiliated hospital.  MethodsThrough the four dimensions of students' individual characteristics, training links, guiding interaction and psychological construction, we constructed the model of influencing factors of graduation deferral. ResultsInterdisciplinary Postgraduates are more prone to postponement (OR=8.80, P=0.01), with “application for assessment” (OR=9.06, P<0.01), “master and doctoral studies” (OR=5.41, P=0.02), the risk of postponing graduation is higher for doctoral students admitted through direct PhD students; the key training links include “thesis writing training and scientific research ability training” (OR=0.33, P=0.01) and “degree of funding” (OR=0.42, P=0.05), and “effective guidance of tutors and teams” in the interactive learning (OR=0.23, P=0.03) and “scientific research investment” (OR=0.56, P=0.00) all have a negative influence on normal graduation. ConclusionStrengthening process management, implementing the system of opening reports, pre-defense, and mid-term assessment have a significant inhibitory effect on graduation deferral of doctoral students. Good instructional interaction, scientific research training, substantial funding, and domestic and international academic exchanges are beneficial to reducing the risk of postponement for medical doctoral students.
