Abstract: Objective　To analyze the papers published by Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University from 2015 to 2020 by using SciVal , and to provide countermeasures and suggestions for Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University to realize the strategic goal of "grand synthesis". Methods　Based on the data of Elsevier's SciVal platform, papers published by Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University during 2015-2020 was taken as the analysis object, and the performance and gap of the two hospitals in the evaluation index were obtained from 10 indicators in four aspects: the number of scientific research output, the influence of articles, scientific research cooperation and the trend of discipline development. Results　The neurology department and neurosurgery department in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University had significant advantages. However, there is still a big gap of overall scientific and technological capability between these two hospitals. It is urgent to strengthen the construction of comprehensive disciplines in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University.Conclusion　Based on the standard analysis of the published papers of the two hospitals via SciVal, it is found that the development of both hospitals has similarities and differences. Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University should accelerate the construction of comprehensive disciplines, and pay attention to activating the scientific research and innovation ability of comprehensive disciplines in terms of talents, platform and system.
