Study on the career planning course construction for medical students from the perspective of “ideological and political education in curriculum”——based on the undergraduates of Capital Medical University

Abstract: Objective  Through the in-depth investigation and analysis on the course construction of career planning for medical students from the perspective of “ideological and political education in curriculum”, this paper aims to analyze the theories of teaching, ideological and political work and students growth, so as to give full play to the moral education function and guiding role of the course and to realize the educational purpose of “cultivating people with morality”. Methods  The full-time undergraduates from Capital Medical University are selected to anonymously and voluntarily complete the online questionnaire. Results  Among 956 medical students, 740 (77.4%) students have a demand on the course of career planning for medical students; 698 (73.0%) of the students think that the ideological and political education can “set ambitious career ideal, stimulate the  learning enthusiasm and fighting spirit”, 811 (84.8%) students expect this course will introduce “social hot issues” analysis; 837 (87.6%) of the students think that “the real case sharing” can help themselves to study and think deeply.  Conclusion  The course should pay attention to the refinement and penetration of ideological and political elements, grasp the cultural inheritance and the development, tap rich teaching resources, optimize teaching pathways, and constantly improve the teaching assessment and evaluation mechanism.
