Abstract: Objective   To explore the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of medical students, to understand students needs of mental health services, and to put forward educational countermeasures, so as to provide references for psychological health education in colleges and universities.  Methods    The full-time undergraduates and junior college students in Capital Medical University are selected as the research objects to participate anonymously and voluntarily through the Internet questionnaire. Results    The majority of medical students (83.4%) reported that they were in a good state, and 78.5% of them “do not need psychological counseling or help” at present. Their real needs were “academic guidance” (62.4%), “time planning” (51.0%) and “emotional regulation” (30.4%). In the future, 31.1% of the students hope to obtain psychological assessment, 24.1% for online psychological consultation, and 21.5% for  psychological science knowledge in the form of school mental health service. When encountering difficulties during the epidemic, students mainly choose to seek help from “family members” (87.7%) and “friends” (77.4%), with less help from psychological counselors, university counselors and mentors. Conclusion    During the epidemic prevention and control period, undergraduate and junior college medical students are generally stable and have a rational and peaceful mentality.
