Efficacy and implementation of popular music in aesthetic education in medical colleges and universities—taking Capital Medical University as an example

Abstract: With the continuous improvement of quality education, the policy of combining five aspects of education has become an indispensable part of education. Popular music is an important part of the development of music education in universities. To understand its implementation strategies in music education in medical colleges, this paper explores the function and implementation status of popular music in music education in medical colleges. It is suggested that popular music can drive the reform of music education in medical colleges. However, the current popular music education in medical colleges has problems such as single course content, outdated methods, and limited space for extracurricular practice. We need to optimize and improve the content, methods, and extracurricular practices of popular music education, so as to ensure the full play of the functions of popular music education in medical colleges.
