Application and exploration of TPDS mode in nephrology teaching

Abstract: Objective To explore the teaching effect of team problems discussion share (TPDS) mode in nephrology.Methods 100 five-year clinical medicine majors of Grade 2014 in Wuhan University are divided into experimental group and control group, 50 each. According to the syllabus, during the learning and clinical internship stage of the kidney disease section, the experimental group implemented the TPDS interactive teaching method, the control group used the traditional teaching method. The teaching effects of the two groups were compared through the test scores and the questionnaire survey. Results The average test scores of experimental group was significantly higher than those of control group, and the two groups were statistically significant. The average satisfaction score in the questionnaire was higher in the experimental group than in the control group, and the two groups were statistically significant. Conclusions Integrated with PBL and TBL teaching methods, the application of TPDS method in clinical nephrology is proposed. TPDS as a teaching method, is based on the group as the core to discuss and share based on the problem, encourages students to actively participate to improve clinical thinking ability and teamwork spirit.
