Abstract: Objective To find out the current situation and effectiveness of community internship of general practice among undergraduates major in clinical medicine, so as to provide support for perfecting community internship. Methods A total of twenty-seven 5-year clinical undergraduates of Capital Medical University, who had completed the community internship in 4 community health service centers in Beijing, were interviewed in the form of topic group interview from May to June in 2016, and interview data were summed up and summarized into the interview subjects. Results ①The clinical medicine undergraduates increased their understanding of community GPs’ work contents significantly by finishing the community internship. ② The internship contents were mainly related to actual teaching tasks of the teachers.③ The practical opportunities in the community internship process were inadequate.④ The clinical medicine undergraduates thought it was necessary to participate in community internship, but they lacked the willing ness to choose the general practice as their future careers. Conclusion The clinical medicine undergraduates are more likely to recognize the community internship of general practice, but the internship content and time arrangement need to be further standardized.
