Application of the comprehensive teaching method in medical clerkship training in ophthalmology

Abstract: Medical clerkship training is helpful to develop the ability of students, which enables them to combine theory with practice, to analyze and solve medical problems. This procedure is the critical bridge and junction for medical students to become qualified doctors. In this study, the characters of several teaching methods were analyzed and discussed. We flexibly combined these methods into the comprehensive teaching and actively applied it to ophthalmic clerkship training. This practice effectively intrigued the interests and passion of students. Their abilities of active thinking and participation were also promoted. The comprehensive teaching has been proved to be favorable and effective.
