Abstract: To improve the training of high-quality innovative medical talents, Capital Medical University (CCMU) proposed and started Jieping Class Program as an effort to achieve such goal. This was based on the demand for upscale compound medical talents according to Healthy China Strategy and the aim of building a “high-level research-oriented” medical university. The Program is compatible with the school's philosophy, strengths and resources. The centerpiece of the program consists of “5+postgraduate training stage”, i.e. a 5-year undergraduate medical education is seamlessly fused with postgraduate PhD training. Various measures have been actively explored to warrant success, from cultivating innovation ability, understanding the logic of the knowledge system, expanding international vision to improving student recruitment and establishing support mechanisms.
