Abstract: Objective To explore the teaching effect of practical teaching in training vascular ultrasonography physicians or cerebral blood flow monitoring in carotid endarterectomy surgery. Methods 16 resident physicians and 24 in-service ducation physicians in vascular ultrasonography department of Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University were selected rom January to December 2018. They were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. For the xperimental group, the practical teaching combined with theorical teaching was adopted, while the traditional theoretical eaching method were used for the control group. After the course, theoretical examination and questionnaire were taken to valuate the teaching effect. Results The physicians in the experimental group got higher scores of both basic theoretical est and case analysis test than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The esults of the questionnaire showed that the scores of the learning enthusiasm, self-learning ability, communication ability,literature search ability and clinical thinking ability in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the ontrol group, and the differences was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of theorical and ractical teaching can achieve better teaching results, and can be applied to train professional vascular ultrasound monitoring eams for carotid endarterectomy surgery.
