Post competency model of medical college faculty from the perspective of academic career development

Abstract: Objective To construct a post competency model for teachers in medical universities and clarify core competency elements, so as to provide a scientific basis for teacher recruitment, training and evaluation.Methods Based on competency theory, a combined research method of keyword frequency statistics, questionnaire survey and behavioral event interview was adopted to systematically sort out and empirically analyze the post competency elements of teachers in medical universities.Results Thirteen post competencies for teachers in medical universities were identified and summarized, including logical thinking ability, professional knowledge and skills, and a systematic competency model was constructed.Conclusion Conducting teacher competency evaluation based on the competency model and applying the results to recruitment, training and performance assessment is conducive to improving the overall competency of teachers in medical universities, promoting
