Abstract: Against the backdrop of China's in-depth advancement of the “Double First-Class Initiative”, discipline construction in medical universities is confronted with increasingly fierce competition and an ever-growing demand for resources. As a typical capital-intensive and talent-intensive domain, the development of medical education and research can no longer be sustained by sole reliance on traditional government fiscal appropriations to achieve high-quality, accelerated development; diversifying channels for social resource mobilization has therefore become an urgent priority. University alumni associations and education foundations serve as two core platforms for pooling social resources, maintaining emotional bonds, and supporting university construction and development, whose synergistic effectiveness directly impacts the fundraising capacity and long-term momentum for discipline development.  Grounded in the distinctive characteristics of medical institutions and the inherent logic of discipline development, this paper systematically delineates the functional positioning of alumni associations and education foundations, analyzes the structural roots of their coordination failures, constructs a collaborative symbiosis model centered on the "One Body, Two Wings" framework, and proposes a four-dimensional practice pathway encompassing “organization–data–product–incentive”. This study aims to provide an an actionable theoretical reference for medical universities and colleges to build diversified fundraising systems and enhance their discipline construction capabilities.
