Exploration of the collaborative model of medicine and education to enhance undergraduates, clinical practice

Abstract: The collaborative model of medicine and education emphasizes the integration of medical foundation and clinical curricula, and improves the clinical thinking and clinical practice ability of medical students. As the first stage of the “5+3” medical education continuum, five-year undergraduate medical education has the practical problems of separation of theory and practice, imperfect teaching guarantee system and students, weak independent learning in the course of clinical curriculum teaching. This paper focuses on how to improve the undergraduates training quality in five-year clinical medicine from the aspects of unifying ideological understanding, emphasizing top-level design, strengthening teaching staff, optimizing teaching conditions, bettering supervision and evaluation, etc. It aims to continuously deepen teaching reform, to train post competence, to lay a solid foundation for cultivating all-round applied clinical medical talents.
