Build a bridge between basic sciences and clinical courses——A brief introduction of teaching features of PUMC diagnosis curriculum

Abstract: Diagnosis curriculum serves as an important course bridging basic sciences and clinical courses. The two most frequent challenges in the diagnosis curriculum teaching are how to guide the students in application of basic knowledge to clinical problem solving and how to improve the students’ clinical competence.Diagnos is curriculum in Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) is competency-based designed. We have been exploring teaching innovations and have achieved desirable teaching effects. This article gives a brief introduction of the important teaching features of PUMC diagnosis curriculum, focusing on small group teaching, basic skill teaching, clinical competence, as well as faculty development,feedback and improvement.
