Abstract: Every stage of “case-experiment-competition” integrated progressive innovation ability training model is applied to the teaching practice of biomedical engineering major “probability theory and mathematical statistics”, and the statistical survey method is used to evaluate the effectiveness in improving students’ innovation ability. The results show that the training model reform has significantly improved students’ understanding of the connotation of innovation, willingness to take the initiative to participate in innovation activities, improvement of innovation ability through curriculum learning, and sense of achievement from curriculum learning, meanwhile it still needs to be further strengthened in the way of improving innovation ability.
