Survey on saturated bilingual teaching of infectious diseases

Abstract: Objective To know the effectiveness of bilingual teaching of infectious diseases for medical students and to explore the bilingual teaching method and model for infectious diseases. Methods A questionnaire survey was carried out among 198 medical students at Capital Medical University. Their views on bilingual teaching were studied and the teaching effectiveness were evaluated. Results The results show that 78.8% of the students had passed LET-6 test, 78.8% of the students received the bilingual teaching model of infectious diseases, 66.8% of them were satisfied with the overall effect of bilingual teaching and the teachers, and 61.1% of the students believed that the biggest obstacles to the bilingual teaching of infectious diseases were the professional vocabulary and the English listening comprehension. Conclusion The bilingual teaching of infectious diseases on medical students is feasible. The model of bilingual teaching has achieved the desired teaching results.
