Investigation and analysis of nurses' job satisfaction in a third-grade class-A hospital in Beijing

Abstract: Objective To investigate and analyse nurses' job satisfaction in a third-grade class-A hospital to improve the nurses` job satisfaction , to stable nurses team, to suggest scientific basis, to advice and provide reference for hospital managers. Methods We used assessment tools of foreign mature development and personal information questionnaire designed in a hospital. This survey was conducted among 393 nurses. Results The regression results show that the following factors have significant effects on nurses job satisfaction: family understanding and support, pay satisfaction, training opportunities, happiness and sense of achievement, nursing work recognition, workload adaptation and information transfer. Conclusion In order to improve the nurses’ job satisfaction, the hospital needs to increase their salary and to strengthen the humanistic care. The family, colleagues and leaders shouldl understand their job. The leader should provide them with training opportunities to enhance their professional ability. Thus the nurses' satisfaction can be improved in an all round way.
