Construction and effectiveness evaluation of a multidisciplinary integrated “Maternal and Child Health” micro-major talent cultivation model: A case study of Chongqing Medical University

目的 评估重庆医科大学公共卫生学院与附属妇女儿童医院联合开设的“妇幼健康”微专业在培养复合型妇幼健康人才中的实施成效。方法 采用定性与定量相结合的混合方法,对首届23名预防医学三年级学生进行课前课后对比评估,涵盖核心知识测试、自主学习能力量表、各教学环节/活动对学生的帮助程度评估、课程效用性及满意度调查。结果 学生结业率达100%。核心知识掌握率从课前的71%提升至课后的96%(χ² = 4.17, P = 0.04);自主学习能力中人际沟通维度提升具有统计学意义(t = 2.13, P = 0.041);48%的学生认为课程超出预期,35%达到预期。各教学环节中,“体验式厨房”(5.0分)、“临床案例分析”(4.9分)和“医院实地观摩”(4.6分)在激发学习兴趣和提升应用能力方面评分最高,而实践课课堂讲授(2.6分)评分最低。结论 该微专业通过跨学科课程体系与实践平台建设,有效提高了学生的知识水平和综合能力,但仍需优化课程密度与实践教学模式。

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the implementation outcomes of the “Maternal and Child Health” Micro-major jointly offered by the School of Public Health and the affiliated Women and Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, in cultivating interdisciplinary maternal and child health talents. Methods A mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative methods was used to conduct a pre- and post-course comparative assessment among the inaugural cohort of 23 third-year preventive medicine undergraduates, covering core knowledge tests, a self-directed learning competence scale, helpfulness evaluations of teaching components, and surveys on course utility and satisfaction. Results The completion rate reached 100%. Core knowledge mastery rate rose from 71% pre-course to 96% post-course (χ²=4.17, P=0.04). Among self-directed learning ability dimensions, interpersonal communication showed significant improvement (t = 2.13, P = 0.041). Forty-eight percent of students rated the course as exceeding their expectations, while 35% reported meeting their expectations. “Experiential Kitchen” (5.0 points), “Clinical Case Analysis” (4.9 points), and “Hospital Site Visits” (4.6 points) scored highest in stimulating learning interest and enhancing application ability, whereas “Lecture-based Instruction” (2.6 points) in practical sessions scored the lowest. Conclusion Through the construction of an interdisciplinary curriculum and practice platforms, this Micro-major has effectively improved students’ knowledge and competencies. However, optimization of course density and practical teaching models still need further optimization.
